Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.

2. AutoCAD has appeared in 3D modeling software products. What is 3D modeling software? What is the relationship between CAD and 3D modeling?
AutoCAD is the 2D and 3D design application of the Autodesk family of products. The AutoCAD product line contains many other software titles, but these are described below.
D3D is a 3D modeling and animation software product line that runs on PCs, mobile devices, and the Mac operating system. There is also a web version, called D3D online, that allows remote workers to collaborate using the Internet.
The D3D product line is a global collaboration tool. It is used by architects, engineers, interior designers, and others, to create digital assets and deliver them as video, images, and text. D3D supports the free, open source community by offering a free online model and image viewer called Cloud Viewer.

AutoCAD Architecture is a collaboration tool for engineers, interior designers, and architects. It can be used in several ways:
• The architecture portion of the product includes tools for visualizing and documenting the physical and conceptual structure of buildings and urban environments.
• The design portion of the product includes tools for visualizing and documenting the design of buildings and urban environments.
• The documentation portion of the product includes tools for capturing and sharing project information.
AutoCAD Architecture is a commercial product available on desktop PCs. It is also available as a mobile app called AutoCAD Mobile Architecture.

Default user interface
AutoCAD has a GUI interface, the “Graphical User Interface” or “GUI”, and a command-line interface, the “Command-Line Interface” or “CLI”. Users can switch between these two user interfaces by selecting a different “mode” from the top menu of the application. The most common applications on the market are the “Autodesk Designer” (for the GUI), and “autocad.exe” (for the CLI). These applications are used for creating 2D and 3D drawings. There are also numerous applications that create a specific type of content with AutoCAD.
Graphical User Interface
The AutoCAD user interface (UI) can be customized by creating a template for a user interface that will be loaded for each new drawing. This template is created as a component in a drawing and can be used by using the “Open” command in a drawing.
The user interface can also be changed manually by opening the “Property Manager” which is located in the Help menu. This option allows users to change the layout of menus and toolbars for specific drawings.
The CLI is a command-line interface for the application. It is available as a command-line interpreter by default in all AutoCAD versions, and it is used to perform the most frequent drawing actions. The CLI is also used to run Autodesk software, most notably the AutoCAD product itself.
There are two types of command-line interface:
The interactive command-line is available by default in all AutoCAD versions, and allows commands to be typed directly into a command-line window. For example, typing the “command” command in the “Command Line” will bring up the Interactive command-line.
To use the online command-line, open a command-line window with the following command:
The command-line user interface allows complex tasks, but it also makes it difficult to read or write the command-line. As an alternative, the online command-line is a simple command-line interface that is not recommended for complex tasks.
Customization and scripting
AutoCAD has a scripting language called “AutoLisp” that can be used to create

What’s New In?
During release of AutoCAD 2020, we continued to add features to our new default File > Markup menu.
Importing from paper documents such as Microsoft Word and PDFs
In the past, we used to rely on manually importing paper documents from a scanner, a fax machine, or a computer, and then manually searching for shapes and text and adding to the model. But this type of process is time-consuming and prone to error.
In the 2020 release of AutoCAD, we have introduced the ability to import paper documents directly into your drawings, without having to scan the paper first. This is convenient, but it doesn’t automatically change your model based on the contents of the paper.
With AutoCAD 2023, we have added an additional way to import documents, based on the contents of the paper.
To use the paper import features, you must first select the paper document from File > Markup > Import Documents. Then you can drag the image to AutoCAD and automatically add the various shapes and text to your drawing.
To convert these imported shapes to drawings, you need to manually create drawings and import the shapes into them.
Incorporating a scanned image
You can also import a previously scanned image into your drawings.
For example, you could scan the same image from a paper document, and then create a new drawing in AutoCAD and import the scanned image from the new drawing.
Note: Even if the previous scan is saved as a PDF, you must save it as a DWG or DXF.
Rapidly compare two drawings
You can quickly compare two drawings to identify and correct errors. To do so, you can use the Error Detection and Correction Tool.
For example, you could create a new drawing from scratch, and then quickly switch to the new drawing and start making changes. You could also quickly view the previous drawing to check if there are any problems that you should address before you complete the current drawing.
The previous and current drawings can be placed side-by-side, and you can use the eraser and other tools on each drawing to easily compare them.
View and edit shapes, text, and annotations
You can also quickly view and edit any annotation on any drawing element, regardless of whether it’s a polyline, text, ellipse, circle, triangle,
